EzMode & Your Home Screen
Run your books in plain English. Tell Kanta what happened, check what it prepared, and save. Switch to the full application whenever you need it.
What EzMode Is
EzMode is a simpler way into Kantivo, not a smaller version of it. The menus and accounting screens step aside and a plain-English home screen takes their place, with the assistant front and centre. Everything you do there is recorded as ordinary double-entry transactions on the same company file, so the full application, your reports and your accountant see exactly what you did.
Turning It On
- First time you open a company: Kantivo asks How would you like to work? Choose EzMode, Business Dashboard, or another screen from the list. You can also choose Not now.
- Any time: click EZ in the switch at the top of the screen.
- Every time you log in: set your home screen to EzMode under ⚙️ Company Settings → 👤 My Preferences → Home screen, or click Open EzMode every time I log in at the bottom of the EZ home.
The EZ Home Screen

Asking Kanta
Describe what happened as you would to a bookkeeper. Include who, how much and, where it matters, which account or card paid.
The tiles start a sentence for you. I spent money puts I spent in the box and shows a hint about what to add, so you only finish the thought. How am I doing? and Who owes me? ask straight away.
Kanta opens the same form a bookkeeper would use, fills in the vendor or customer, the amount and the accounts, and tells you in one plain sentence what it prepared. If it isn't sure which category something belongs in, it asks you to choose rather than guessing.
Approving the Work
Kanta never saves a financial document for you unless you ask it to in so many words ("save it", "post it"). This is enforced by the software, not left to the AI. When it has filled a form:
- Check the form that opened, and change anything you like.
- Click Save to record it.
- If you close the window instead, the prepared item stays in Waiting for my OK (the AI Staged list), where you can view, approve or decline it later.
The EZ / Full Switch
The switch sits at the top of every screen. Full brings back the sidebar, menus and every screen. EZ returns to the EZ home. Using the switch doesn't change your saved home screen, so it's a quick way to look something up in the full view and come back.
If you never use EzMode, you can hide the switch: ⚙️ Company Settings → 👤 My Preferences → Hide the EZ / Full switch in the top bar.
Choosing Your Home Screen
Each person chooses the screen that opens when they log in or open a company. The choice is saved to their login, so it follows them to any computer, and it never affects anyone else.

Set it under ⚙️ Company Settings → 👤 My Preferences → Home screen. Contractors always open on Time Tracking.
For Your Accountant
Nothing about the books changes. A payment recorded from EzMode is a customer payment; an expense is a check or expense against real accounts, with the normal audit trail. Accountants can work in the full view or Accountant Tools as usual, and can click EZ to see the owner's screen.
Common Questions
Is EzMode a different edition?
No. It's part of every plan and works on the same company file as the full view.
Does it use AI credits?
Requests to Kanta count toward your plan's included AI allowance. The tiles' fill in the form yourself links, the money summary and the switch do not. You can connect your own Anthropic key under ⚙️ Company Settings → 🤖 AI Assistant.
Kanta filled in the wrong account. What now?
Change it on the form before saving. Mentioning the account or card in your request ("on the Amex", "from checking") helps it choose correctly.
Will others in my company see EzMode?
Only if they choose it. The switch and home screen are personal to each user.
