The 12-Year Price Lock applies to your subscription tier rate. If you upgrade to a higher tier, the new tier's current rate becomes your locked rate. Taxes and payment processing fees from third parties (Stripe, PayPal) are separate and not controlled by Kantivo.

What's included in the free trial?

Can I change plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade anytime and your new tier's current rate becomes your locked rate for 12 years. If you downgrade, you'll get the current rate for that tier (still locked for 12 years from that point).
What does "desktop app" mean? Is this cloud-based?
Kantivo installs on your computer or server. Your financial data stays on YOUR infrastructure - not ours. But you can still access it from any device with internet access. It's the best of both worlds: you control your data, but can work from anywhere.
How do "unlimited devices" work?
Your subscription covers accessing Kantivo from any device - laptop, desktop, tablet. No per-device fees. Your accountant, bookkeeper, and team members can all connect without extra charges (up to your plan's user limit, plus accountant access).
Can I import from QuickBooks?
Yes! We support importing from QuickBooks (IIF format). Your chart of accounts, customers, vendors, and transaction history can all be imported. Most businesses complete migration in under an hour.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards through Stripe. Annual subscriptions only - no monthly billing (that's how we keep prices low and predictable).
Can I request new features?
Yes! Feature requests can be submitted directly through the app (Help menu > Report Bug / Request Feature) - even during your free trial. We review all suggestions and prioritize based on customer feedback.
What is the AI Assistant and how does it work?
The AI Assistant is a self-learning feature that lets you create invoices, bills, and checks by just asking in plain English. For example, type "Create an invoice for ABC Company for $500 consulting" and the AI pre-fills the form for you. It gets smarter with every interaction across all users. AI chat limits per month: Trial: 150 | Basic: 150 | Pro: 300 | Accountant Pro: 500 | Enterprise: 1,000. Need more? Add-on packs available.
Can I give my accountant access to my books?
Yes! On any plan, you can grant your accountant secure access to your books. Just create an invitation code in Settings → Accountant Access and share it with your accountant. They'll connect from their own Kantivo installation. You control access levels (full or read-only) and can revoke access anytime.
I'm an accountant - which plan should I choose?
Any plan works for your own firm's bookkeeping. To access your clients' books remotely, you'll need Accountant Pro or Accountant Enterprise - these tiers include the Client Access feature. Setup is simple: accept a one-time invitation code from each client, and they're permanently saved in your Connected Clients dashboard. From there, access any client's books with a single click - no re-entering codes or additional passwords. Your clients subscribe separately with whatever plan fits their needs.
