Speed Stats

A quick, plain-language readout of how snappy your accounting feels - timed against your real data, never a demo.

Overview

Ever wished your accounting app would simply tell you it's running well? That's what Speed Stats does. With a single click it puts a stopwatch on your own reports and gives you an easy-to-read verdict. For anyone who has watched older desktop software grind to a halt as the data piled up, this is welcome peace of mind - clear evidence that Kantivo stays quick.

Everything it does is read-only. Your records are never touched, and nothing is estimated - the numbers are pulled straight from your live company file.

Opening the Panel

You can get to Speed Stats in two places:

  1. Top navigation: open the More ▾ menu and select 📊 Speed Stats. Prefer it on your main bar? Pin it with the customize gear.
  2. Business Dashboard: a compact Speed Stats card sits near the top of the dashboard with an at-a-glance summary - clicking it opens the full view.

Once the panel is open, press Run health check to take fresh measurements.

What Gets Timed

A check stopwatches the tasks you lean on most:

MeasurementWhat's being timed
Balance SheetSumming every journal line in the company
Income StatementProducing a profit-and-loss for a date range
Busiest registerOpening your highest-traffic account, usually the bank
DashboardRefreshing your headline figures

It also verifies that the under-the-hood speed optimizations are active, which is what keeps your registers quick even after years of entries.

Understanding the Verdict

Every measurement gets a colour, and the headline sums up the overall result:

ColourWhat it means
GreenInstant - back in a fraction of a second
AmberStill quick, just one to watch as you scale up
RedSlower than ideal - get in touch and we'll tune it

Timings appear in seconds (e.g. 0.02s) to match the way you experience a wait. Expand Details to see the individual figure for each measurement.

The All-Companies Tally

The main figures describe the company file you're viewing. Speed Stats also rolls up every transaction across all the company files you can access into a single grand tally - handy if you keep books for more than one business and want to see the whole picture at a glance. It only ever counts companies you're permitted to open.

Tip: Don't judge a fresh file by its transaction count - judge it by its speed. A brand-new company producing a Balance Sheet in a few thousandths of a second is proof the engine is ready for years of growth.

Just How Fast?

We ran Kantivo through a deliberate stress test: keep adding transactions until a full Balance Sheet finally takes three seconds to generate. How many did it take?

26 million - roughly 52 million journal lines. To put that in perspective, many desktop accounting tools begin to stall around 200,000. For everyday bookkeeping, your reports will feel instant for a very long time to come.
