Your Desktop clients are about to ask you a question
Intuit has stopped selling QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier to new customers, and every renewal costs more than the last. The path Intuit offers is QuickBooks Online: per-month billing, books on Intuit's servers, and a conversion that doesn't carry everything over. Your clients will ask you where to go, and some will ask you to take them there.
Kantivo gives them somewhere that works the way they already do: GAAP-compliant double-entry books on their own computer, paid once a year. And it takes the migration off your plate.
Your own practice runs on QBOA? Intuit closes it at the end of 2026. A small practice's guide to the change →
The migration is ours, and so is the proof
White-Glove Import costs nothing, for every client you bring. Four questions, the QuickBooks exports we list, and temporary access to the client's installation. Our migration team moves accounts, customers, vendors and history, then reconciles everything against what QuickBooks reported. The deliverable is a tie-out report: each account, A/R, A/P and bank balance next to the QuickBooks figure, with any difference fixed or explained in writing on its line. Decisions that would change reported numbers come back to you or the client, not guessed.
The client relationship stays yours. The re-keying doesn't.
Client books: on their machine or on yours
On their machine: no cap at all
The client holds their own Kantivo subscription and their own books; you remote into the live file to work. Every accountant plan, the no-cost one included, serves an unlimited number of these clients, and Certified Partners take 35% of each client's subscription for as long as it renews.
On yours: priced in blocks
For clients who want you to keep everything. 5 hosted client books on Accountant Pro ($540 a year), 15 on Accountant Pro 15 ($1,080), no ceiling on Accountant Firm. A hosted client who later buys their own subscription frees the slot.
A practice licence that costs nothing
Members of our partner programme run their own practice on the Partner plan for free: 2 hosted books, no cap on clients with their own subscription, and every accountant tool. Membership is free and approved immediately. Someone confirms your practice, normally within a business day, with no exam involved; the free certification is only what raises your commission to 35%. To renew each year you need either one client you referred on a paid plan, or a paid plan of your own. The full terms →
Nothing stops you trying it first. The 30-day trial has every feature on, so move one client's QuickBooks file across and judge the result.
Built around a practitioner's day
The workflow tools do the compounding: batch-run statements across the whole client list, apply your standard adjusting entries from templates, remote into a client's own Kantivo install when their books need hands-on repair, and close out the year in a tax workspace that thinks in trial-balance columns the way you do.
